Your assignment, the Physiology of Superheroes, has you working in groups on 3 to create a superhero or supervillan possessing certain abilities that can be explained with physiological concepts.
The instructor is interested in "your ability to take what you've learned in this class and explain it in context, expand your knowledge by thinking through the hypothetical, and support those thoughts with original biomedical academic search articles.
Concepts that can be used can come from BIOL 2401, but each presenter must include topics from BIOL 2402.
Each presentation should cover:
1. A brief overview of the powers.
2. An overview of normal human anatomy and physiology concepts (BIOL 2402) relevant to the presentation.
3. Explain the mechanism(s) - in a detailed way, explain how the physiology of the superpower works within the concepts from BIOL 2402. This is a part where research sources from scholarly/peer-reviewed journals is needed. The articles should provide information on the process of that particular physiological aspect as well as provide data. You can research within human, animal, and cells.
4. Apply the findings with other body systems and concepts of homeostasis. Are there drawbacks or weaknesses? This part will also require information from scholarly sources and figures/data/charts.
5. All sources must be cited in APA format, both in in-text citations and a references slide. Each group member must have at least 2 academic research article references.
