3D printing

Mollie with the 3D printerThe primary purpose of the 3d printer is to give engineering students a chance to print their projects when the science building is closed. We are working in close contact with Paulina Sidwell and her students.

After engineering students, we have opened up the printer to all of our MCC family looking to learn about 3d printing. We have created a new guide with all the information to get you started 3d printing. https://mclennan.libguides.com/makerspace

The Makerspace at the MCC Learning Commons is a supervised, safe, and accessible workshop space providing MCC students, faculty, and staff access to tools and equipment for the development of unique skills and hobbies.

The Makerspace is located on the 2nd floor of the Learning Technology Center in Room 228.

  • It's free and the paper is provided.
  • Paper size is 36" wide and you can print in portrait or landscape.
  • Ask one of the technicians at the Circulation Desk to get you started.
  • It prints slowly and there might be others queued up so plan accordingly.
  • Scholar Day posters need to be 48" W by 36" H

You can adjust your slide size by using these steps or the preformatted template found below:

  1. Open your PowerPoint Presentation
  2. Select the Design tab
  3. Click on Slide Size in the top right of the screen
  4. Select Custom Slide Size
  5. And finally, make sure it reads 48” width by 36” height

Ready to print?

Present your poster project on a USB drive to the library staff at the circulation desk of the Learning Commons Library. A library staff member will print your poster. The wait time is normally around 30-45 minutes depending on the amount of graphics and color ink applied to the poster. You may be notified via email when the printing is complete.
