Makerspace

Location - Room 228, LTC (next to the cafe)

The Makerspace at the MCC Learning Commons is a supervised, safe, and accessible workshop.  These tools and equipment are provided for the development and discovery of unique skills and interests by MCC students, faculty, and staff!

Before your first Makerspace visit, make sure to complete

General Safety Training

  1. Our space is limited.  If all stations are full please come again at a different time.
  2. You will need your MCC ID to check in.
  3. By appointment times are available during the Library’s extended hours.

Please bear with us as we launch this new resource and learn together.

Summer semester hours are as follows:

Anyone entering within 30 minutes of closing will be asked not to start any new projects.

The Makerspace closes at the end of each major semester.  Closed times include our Winter Break, the May Minimester, and the interim following Summer II.

 

Planning for Faculty and Staff

  • To arrange a time to use the Makerspace for your course, a student group, class visit, a collaboration, or to support a continuing education course, please use our contact info below. For department retreats or special projects such as awards please download the price list below.
  • If you have a class assignment involving the use of the Makerspace, please provide our team advance notice so that we may be prepared.
  • Guided tours may easily be arranged by contacting us ahead of time.
