► I'm a University Center Student. May I check out books from the MCC Library?
Yes, but you will need an MCC ID card. You may obtain one from the MCC card office located on the 1st floor of the Administration Building (inside the Business Office).
► I'm an Alternative Teacher Certification student. May I check out books from the MCC Library?

► How many books may I check out?
You may check out 5 books per subject for a total of 10 books.
► How long may I keep a book?
You may keep a book for three weeks.
► Can I check a book out again if I still need it?
You may renew a book twice. You can do this online by going to the library catalog and logging into your account with your 7 digit student ID #.
Yes. Fines of $1.00 per day are charged for overdue circulating books, to a maximum of $14.00 per item. When the $14.00 maximum has been reached, a "hold" in the amount of $35.00 is imposed on the student's record.
► End of semester: Why is my book due back in less than 3 weeks toward the end of the semester?
All books checked out to students toward the end of the semester are due back on the last class day; therefore, if you check out a book less than 3 weeks from the last day of classes, your checkout period will be shorter.
► Does the library charge fines for late returns?
No; fines are charged only if the book is lost or damaged. A book has the status of damaged according to staff discretion and is assumed lost 40 days after its due date. If you have outstanding library fines, you cannot register for classes, so make sure to return your book(s) and pay your fine as soon as possible.
► What if I lose or damage a book?
You'll be charged the replacement cost of the book plus a $5 processing fee. If the book is no longer in print, you will be charged a flat fee of $20 for paperback books or $30 for hardcover books.
► Where do I return books?
During the hours when the library is open, books should be placed in the book drop located next to the Information Desk in the library.
► Do I have to have my ID to check out a book?
Yes.
