Goal
To determine the type and style of plagiarism that occurs in samples of student writing and to identify the method for correcting the plagiarism problem.
To Do
- Form small groups (2-4 students per group). In online formats, the instructor will place you in a breakout room.
- Open the potential plagiarism samples slideshow.
- As a group, examine the plagiarism samples (below).
- Left column: This is the information the student submitted.
- Right column: This is the source material that the writer used (and the correct reference information).
- Decide which type of plagiarism the student committed.
- Decide which style of plagiarism the student committed.
- Make note of how the student can correct the plagiarism.
