Online Catalog Search Tips

Following are tips for searching in the online catalog:

  1. To find books about an author or an author's works, select "Subject - Alphabetical" from the drop-down menu below the search box for the online catalog. Type the last name and then the first name of the author. 

  2. To find books by an author, select "Author - Alphabetical" from the drop-down menu below the search box for the online catalog.  Type the last name and then the first name of the author. 

  3. If a call number is included in the detailed record of the book, the book is in print (or hard copy) form and it is located on the shelves in the library.  (Check to make sure the status of the book is "checked in.")  If a link is included in the detailed record of the book, the book is an ebook.  Click on the link to read the book on your screen.
