MCC students, faculty and staff have access to electronic databases that include both article citations and some full-text documents. All databases may be accessed remotely using the MCC username and password.

Newspaper Articles

Several of the library databases contain access to full text newspaper articles.

Encyclopedias, Dictionaries & Reference

If you need quick basic information on a topic, encyclopedias and dictionaries are a great place to start.  The library has several encyclopedia and dictionaries online.

Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Articles

You will find scholarly peer reviewed articles in many of the library databases.

The Online Catalog is the key to finding books in the MCC library collection. All books and journals in the MCC Library are listed in the Online Catalog. The catalog listing also includes information about their location on the shelves. The Online Catalog will help you find any book in the MCC collection. There are also electronic books available in the Online Catalog. You can access these books by clicking on a highlighted link in the book record.

Finding books grouped together by subject area
The MCC Library uses the Library of Congress Classification System, a system that organizes books and other library materials by subject, allowing you to browse the shelves for materials on a specific topic.

How Can I Find a Specific Magazine, Journal or Newspaper?

The Library subscribes to many online and print journals or periodicals.  Use the Journal/Periodicals Guide to search for a particular journal or article.  You may search by Journal title, article tile and subject.
